Peter Booth MD, CQM Training & Consultancy Appointed to the joint Board of the NSA Food & Drink and its parent Sector Skills Council, Improve.
Peter Booth, CQM Training & Consultancy’s Managing Director was elected to the joint Board of Directors for the National Skills Academy Food & Drink and its parent Sector Skills Council, Improve following a closed ballot and tightly run election yesterday.
The successful appointment follows the recent departure of Ed Bales, MD of Poultec who has stood down only due to a recognition both that this position should rotate to provide an opportunity for others and having given 6 years of hugely valuable service.
Appointments to the Board of the NSA and Improve are based on skills and experience of each individual Board member and not any business representations per se.
Board members are appointed for a term of 2 years. The Academy is a wholly owned subsidiary of Improve, the Sector Skills Council for food and drink, and the two companies operate a joint Board, hence Peter Booth will also be a director of Improve and have a legal responsibility for both businesses.
Peter will be responsible for actively reflecting the focus and requirements of the provider network who are key stakeholders in the success of the organisation and to help guide and steer strategy and operations.
Following his election Peter announced ‘I am delighted to have this opportunity to represent the interests of the provider network and envisage a future of greater communication and co-operation between us. The sharing of information and co-delivery of programmes has the potential to benefit all’.
