CQM’s Business Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship combines the full Business Analyst standard with our established expertise in Continuous Improvement, Lean and leadership development. Apprentices learn how to scope business and project needs, engage stakeholders, analyse data and processes, identify root causes, evaluate solutions and support their successful deployment.
The programme has been designed around a structured improvement journey, connecting Business Analysis with the practical skills organisations need to make better decisions and deliver effective change.
Apprentices can also progress to an optional post-EPA Lean Six Sigma Green Belt upgrade, building further technical capability in areas including measurement systems analysis, process capability and hypothesis testing.

Business Analyst Apprenticeship Course Overview
The Business Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to investigate business situations, understand stakeholder needs and contribute to successful business and digital change.

Entry requirements:
Learners should be in a suitable role that enables them to apply the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout the apprenticeship. The apprentice will need regular opportunities to engage stakeholders, examine business processes and information, understand requirements and contribute to a relevant change or improvement initiative.
English and Maths Functional Skills Level 2 can be worked towards as part of the apprenticeship programme.

How is the Business Analyst Apprenticeship Funded?
Apprenticeship funding in England primarily comes from the Apprenticeship Levy, paid by employers with a payroll of over £3 million annually. These funds can be used to train apprentices, making it a cost-effective way to upskill staff and address skill gaps. This includes the Food Industry Technologist Level 3, representing a fantastic opportunity to invest in your teams with £18,000 worth of training and assessment per delegate.
Smaller organisations can also benefit from apprenticeship funding, with a minimum of 95% funding available for your chosen programme, including the Business Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship. The Business Analyst L4 programme, which has a value of £18,000 worth of training, requires £1,000 of investment over 18 months, or just £55.56 per month. Is this apprenticeship focused on IT?
The Business Analyst standard sits within the digital route and includes business and IT change, although the capability has much wider organisational application.
Business Analysts work across people, processes, systems, data and technology. Their work can support operational improvement, customer experience, organisational change, supply chain activity, information management and the introduction of new systems or digital solutions.
CQM places Business Analysis within this broader organisational context. Apprentices develop the recognised occupational capability required by the standard while learning how analysis can contribute to operational performance, Continuous Improvement and long-term organisational effectiveness.
Does the apprenticeship include an implemented project?
The end-point assessment is based on a detailed project implementation proposal rather than the completion of an entire project during the assessment period.
The proposal must address a genuine business need and contain sufficient detail to support full implementation. Implementation must begin during the end-point assessment period, with the apprentice providing evidence of management or leadership support and explaining the progress made during their presentation.
The apprentice also completes a 5,000-word proposal covering the project context, aims, planned activities, stakeholder engagement, research, analysis, findings and recommendations.
This provides the organisation with an evidence-based proposal addressing a genuine priority, alongside initial progress towards implementation.
Following EPA, CQM can continue to support the apprentice’s development through options including the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt upgrade.
