How CQM Supports Apprentices and Employers Throughout the Apprenticeship Journey

Supporting successful apprenticeships that align learning with business goals

For employers and line managers investing in apprenticeships goes beyond effective levy use. It is about developing the skills and capabilities needed to support long-term organisational growth.

CQM Training & Consultancy (CQM T&C) supports employers and their apprentices at every stage of the apprenticeship journey — from initial engagement and onboarding, through programme delivery, to celebrating success on completion.

Onboarding and Induction

Every apprentice starts with a clear, structured induction so they know what to expect and how to succeed. They then receive a welcome pack, meet their dedicated development coach and get access to aptem, our online learning platform, plus supporting resources.

During this stage, they complete a skills scan and cognitive assessments so any additional support needs are identified early. At the same time, we work with line managers to agree programme goals, delivery plans and support structures, so learning is clearly linked to business outcomes.

From day one, you receive a Scheme of Work that maps all Off-the-Job Training, helping you plan around operational demands.

Functional Skills

Onboarding is also a chance to see whether your apprentice would benefit from extra support in English and/or maths.

Functional Skills are no longer a universal requirement for all apprentices, but they still provide a strong foundation for many programmes. Where relevant, we will discuss including Functional Skills in the apprentice’s learning plan.

This is particularly valuable for programmes involving more complex data analysis and statistical reporting.

On-programme Learning

Throughout the programme, apprentices receive tailored support to help them apply new skills in the workplace. The focus is on real-world impact, not just ticking boxes.

Coaching Sessions

Apprentices have regular 1:1 and group sessions with their development coach, focusing on building skills, addressing development areas and growing confidence as they progress.

Progress Reviews

Apprentices, line managers and development coaches meet regularly to review progress, celebrate milestones and identify further development opportunities. These conversations keep apprentices on track, surface any challenges early and ensure training stays relevant to your business needs.

Governance Meetings

Alongside progress reviews, you will take part in regular governance meetings to keep oversight of quality, compliance and business objectives. Your input helps shape the programme so it continues to deliver real value.

Wellbeing and Safeguarding

Learner wellbeing is central to how the programme is delivered. Apprentices can access guidance and support to manage workload, maintain a healthy work–life balance and stay resilient. CQM T&C also has a dedicated safeguarding lead, ensuring apprentices feel safe and supported throughout their journey.

End-Point Assessment and Beyond

As apprentices approach completion, they have dedicated opportunities for mocks to prepare for their End-Point Assessment (EPA), so they feel ready to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and behaviours.

After EPA, they will take part in an Achiever Interview with their Development Coach to reflect on progress, recognise strengths and plan meaningful next steps within your organisation.

Partnering for Success

When you choose CQM T&C, you gain more than a training provider – you gain a development partner.

By combining personalised learner support with active employer collaboration, every apprenticeship journey is designed to deliver measurable impact for individuals and for your business.
