What Is Six Sigma?

Six Sigma is a range of methodologies which seek to improve business processes by reducing the number of errors and defects. The aim of using these techniques is to achieve near perfect quality with less than 3.4 defects per million opportunities. This is achieved using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control).

What Is Lean Methodology?

Lean methodology aims to increase customer satisfaction by reducing waste. This way of thinking focuses on continuous improvement to help teams work more efficiently and effectively.

What Are the 5 Principles of Lean Six Sigma?

The five principles of Lean Six Sigma are Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control (DMAIC). The DMAIC phases are crucial to Lean Six Sigma methodology and to improving business processes and identifying the root causes of issues.

What Does PDCA Mean?

PDCA stands for Plan, Do, Check, Act and is a widely-used tool for the continual improvement of processes. The four steps are typically arranged in a circle to show that it’s an iterative method. It is also called the control circle/cycle or the Shewhart cycle.
